Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is a Christian holiday, that of some Catholic countries, especially in Europe, is celebrated. The holiday falls on the second Thursday after Pentecost and commemorates the bodily presence of Jesus Christ in the sacrament of the Eucharist.

Processions take place in many Catholic communities on Corpus Christi, where the faithful carry the consecrated Hosts through the streets in a monstrance. The processions are often accompanied by festive singing and floral displays.

Corpus Christi is a public holiday in some countries, where schools and public facilities are closed. The holiday has great cultural and religious significance in many Catholic communities and is often celebrated with traditional festivals and events.
