Ascension of Christ

Ascension Day is a Christian holiday, the 40 days after Easter is celebrated. He remembers the day, when Jesus Christ ascended into heaven after his resurrection. According to Christian belief, Jesus has been seated at the right hand of God ever since.

Ascension Day is an important holiday for Christians, since it marks the end of the Easter festival circle. In many countries, especially in Europe, Ascension Day is a public holiday. In some countries like Germany and Austria, this day is also celebrated as Father's Day, where fathers are often honored with hikes and excursions.

In the Christian tradition, Christ's ascension is also interpreted as a symbol of hope for the resurrection and return of Jesus Christ. The holiday reminds of that, that Christians believe, that one day they will be reunited with Jesus in heaven.
